Pitching In Isthmian League- supporters predictions 2021-22: Folkestone Invicta

Time to head to the Kentish seaside, and visit a land of stripes. Ade Dawkes gives us an Invicta view.

We asked supporters of our Pitching In Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off. Ade is a man of few words- let’s see if you agree with them.

1. Thinking about last season- what there was of it- were there any highlights for you?

Ade Dawkes of Folkestone with Mick Sullivan

The highlight of the season was the last game before lockdown. We earned a 2-1 victory at FA Trophy winners Hornchurch, and Josh Vincent scored the goal of the season.

2. Moving on to your current squad- which players do you think will make a big impact during the 2021-22 campaign?

The return of Ade Yusuff and Kieron McCann has added to our- already settled- squad.

3. Realistically, how do you think you’ll do this season?

We all hope to be Champions, but realistically we should make the Playoffs.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

I like going to Margate, and it’s usually Boxing Day or Easter (it’s January 1st so you were nearly right!)

5. What is your favourite away ground?

That’s a rather difficult one, but it’s either Bishop’s Storford or Enfield Town. The staff at Enfield are fantastic and very helpful- which is important and noticeable as I go to away games with my aunt, who is in a wheelchair.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Dover Athletic. But I suppose in our current Division, Margate.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Get here early listen and listen to my sounds (Ade is responsible for the music on a matchday) before kick off. Also, we have a fantastic, reasonably priced and well stocked bar, and also probably the best club shop in the country.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

Currently, captain Callum Davies- but my previous favourites were Ira Jackson Jr. and Sam Hasler

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Folkestone Invicta, Worthing, Hornchurch, Carshalton Athletic, Horsham
