Regent offer free entry for Potters Bar replay

Brightlingsea Regent apologise for Saturday's postponement, and offer free entry when the match is replayed in January

We had two Pitching In Isthmian Premier matches fail to finish due to lighting issues on Saturday, one due to a local area power failure (Hornchurch) and the other due to a fault which developed with the floodlights at Brightlingsea Regent.

Today Regent Secretary Tony Osborne took to the club website to issue the following statement:

'After Saturday’s disappointment which was caused by an issue with our floodlights, personally I’d like to once again apologise to Potters Bar Town’s, players, officials and spectators, as well as to the match officials and to everyone in attendance on Saturday.

We attempted to get the lights on to get the match completed. After 3 or 4 attempts it seems a fault had developed with one of the stanchions, which was working completely fine for Tuesday evenings match! A really frustrating day for all.

We have had the opportunity to reflect and I appreciate Potters Bar Town for being understanding throughout.

The two clubs have agreed to replay the fixture on Tuesday 18th January at 7:45pm.
As a gesture of goodwill, we have agreed to make this match free entry for all as our apology! However, we will have a collection on the gate to cover the match officials costs and any additional profit from this will go towards a charity chosen by the club committee.'
