Romford announce FOURTEEN signings

By Ian Townsend

The Tamplin era begins with Sam Bantick plus thirteen

Whilst the rest of us were asleep, Romford were announcing an entire new squad, with fourteen new arrivals. The list includes a number of names you might recognise:

Sam Bantick joins from Cambridge City. We've written so many stories about Sam and his transfers that just the thought of writing another one provokes a headache, so just head here and add one.

Salim Nassor is a midfielder who has played for North Greenford, Leatherhead and Walthamstow.

Briggs Ojeman is another midfielder, recently at Bromley, where he played for the first team and Under 23's. He came through the Under 18's at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Novell Sony Bruce has also spent time at Bromley, and also turned out for Croydon, whilst Jay Bacon seems to be a rare specimen, someone who was actually with the club last week- an Essex County Under 18 player and a free kick specialist.

Freddy Moncur moves in from Cheshunt, where he has already made a dozen appearances this season- but you might just as well remember the midfielder from his time at Wingate and Finchley, Bishop's Stortford or perhaps Leyton Orient.

Tyrone Kirunda is a defender who played for Charlton Athletic Under 18's and spent some of his formative years at Welling United, whilst Manny Agboola is a goalkeeper who started out at Oxford United, spent some time on loan at Hampton and Richmond Borough and Solihull Moors, and will be known to Mr Tamplin from his time at Billericay Town.

Germaine Dua is a central defender who has spent time at Crawley Town, Farnborough, Wingate & Finchley, Sittingbourne and Canvey Island, whilst Tambeson Eyong is another former Billericay man, and another midfielder, making seventeen appearances for the Blues in 2016-17- a season when he also turned out for Canvey Island. He made a handful of appearances for Heybridge Swifts the following year.

Mohammed Mahmoud is someone we can't find any information about, so we wait to be dazzled, and sadly we have to say the same about Akeem Campbell and Joshua Exley Banks, but Jordan Westcott is another who has recently been playing for Cheshunt, and another midfielder. He joined the Ambers midway through last season from Bishop's Stortford.

You can head along to the Brentwood Arena tomorrow and watch this talent for yourself- and you can do it for nothing, as the match has been designated free entry. Coggeshall Town will be attempting to spoil the party.
