Saints start a manager search

Chalfont St Peter announce Johnson's departure

Chalfont St Peter have announced the resignation of manager Finlay Johnson.

A statement, released yesterday evening, explained:

'Chalfont St. Peter AFC announce that, following discussions with the Club, Finlay Johnson has decided, for personal reasons, to resign his position as manager of Chalfont St. Peter AFC with immediate effect.

The Club would like to place on record our sincerest thanks to Finlay for his hard work and professionalism over the past seasons and wish him and his family all the very best for the future.'

Finlay took over at Saints in May 2019, and his very young side were placed in a very respectable thirteenth place when the 2019-20 Pitching In Isthmian South Central campaign came to a premature end. They were fifteenth when last season went the same way, albeit after only eight matches.

This season has been less successful, with the club currently second bottom.

The very best of luck to Finlay wherever he goes next. We're sure we'll see him back in the dugout soon!
