Sports hit SEVEN- whilst Sevenoaks get back to winning ways

By Ian Townsend

We only had two matches- but they delivered ten goals. It's our round up of Wednesday night's action.

Bedfont Sports got back to league action last night after their cup heroics, playing their first Pitching In Isthmian South Central Division match since September 11th- and they showed how much they'd missed us by hammering home seven goals against visitors Sutton Common Rovers.

The first half didn't really prepare us for the second. At half time the hosts were two-one up, all three goals coming in the last eight minutes; Joe Jackson putting Sports ahead, Ryan Healy equalising for Rovers, and Eze Bademosi restoring the lead one minute before the break.

Six minutes of the second half were over before Darryl Sanders made it three-one, and after that the floodgates were opened. Ricky Wellard, Bademosi with his second, Max Webb and Lewis Flatman made it seven-one with twelve minutes still remaining. Sports climb to ninth, and are nine points off the top with three games in hand over the top five. Rovers are fourteenth, and sadly now have the worst goal difference in the division.

Sevenoaks Town hosted East Grinstead Town, on the back of five successive defeats and with only only one win in eleven. After a goalless first half any nervousness on the part of the home faithful was eased when Freeman Rogers put them ahead, and they were finally able to relax when Bradley Schafer doubled the advantage with nine minutes to go. Oaks are up to twelfth, the Wasps in sixteenth.
