Three South East specials

By Ian Townsend

We’ve only three games in the Pitching In Isthmian South East Division, but there should be no shortage of drama

It’s FA Trophy day, so we’ve only got three South East matches- and we’re starting our preview at seventh place Sittingbourne, who host Phoenix Sports. The Brickies have had an up and down sort of campaign so far, following two impressive wins over Faversham Town and Corinthian with defeat against Hythe Town last time out, whilst Sports have fallen off the rails of late, losing their last three matches- including last Saturday’s home FA Cup defeat against Redhill. The last time the two met, back in February last year, Sports won three-nil.

Whitehawk have had a mediocre start to their league campaign, but were magnificent last weekend when defeating Step Two Slough Town in the FA Cup. If they can bring that form into their match against Lancing then the visitors will need to worry, but the yellows have been much improved of late- whilst they’ve picked up only one win from their last three they’ve conceded only two goals during that period.

Finally, VCD Athletic host Sevenoaks Town. Vickers have only lost once in the league this season but have drawn their last three league matches one-one and haven’t tasted victory since August 21st, when they defeated Raynes Park Vale in the cup. Oaks have lost three of their last four and conceded thirteen goals in the process, and will hope to show the form which defeated Phoenix Sports three-nil rather than that which saw them concede five against Ramsgate last weekend.
