Tuesday night is football night

Who needs the Olympics, as our sides served up goals galore in their pre-season matches?

Here’s a round up of last night’s action, based entirely on the utterly reliable statistics found on social media! If we don't give you the details of who scored, it's because we don't know!

Ashford Utd defeated Sheppey United by three goals to one, storming back to victory after falling behind. Fagg, Leppard and Richardson scored for the Nuts and Bolts. Aveley weren’t so lucky as they hosted Potters Bar Town, and the Scholars took the spoils, winning two-one. Ngandu opened the scoring for the Millers, scorers unknown for Town.

Barking saw MacDonald, Folkes and a trialist get on the scoresheet as they defeated Corinthian three-one, visitors scorer unknown, whilst Basingstoke Town defeated Sholing by three goals to two. Reid got two for the hosts, Lynch the other.

Billericay Town and Lewes shared four goals equally, whilst Binfield defeated Met Police by two goals to one and Bowers and Pitsea fell to a two-nil defeat as they hosted a Southend Utd XI,

Brantham Athletic did manage to score against Felixstowe and Walton Utd, but the seasiders got six- Barley, Canfer, Ottley-Gooch, Bennett, Holland and Matthews with the goals.

Brightlingsea Regent and Coggeshall Town drew one-one, whilst Burgess Hill Town lost to Horsham by the only goal of the match, former Hillian Lee Harding with it.

Bury Town won impressively against Needham Market, three-one with goals from Ramadan, Altintop and Shaw, whilst Canvey Island hosted Cheshunt and the Ambers left with a two-one victory. Reynolds and Charles scored for the visitors, Salmon for the Gulls.

Camberley Town hosted Staines Town, the Swans leaving three-one victors, and Chichester City defeated Christchurch on penalties after a one-one draw, Overton with the goal for Chi.

Cockfosters defeated Tilbury by three goals to one, whilst in Tolworth Corinthian-Casuals defeated Winchester City by two goals to nil

Cray Valley PM put six past Tunbridge Wells, who got one in return. Babalola (2), Barrington, and Hill with a first half hat trick scored for the Millers, whilst Bracknell Town got five at Didcot Town, but we don’t know who scored.

Enfield Town fell four-one as they entertained Boreham Wood, Faal with the goal for the Towners, whilst Fakenham Town hosted Dereham Town as the Magpies won by the odd goal in five. Mulready, Hipperson and undecided (!) scored for Dereham.

Faversham Town defeated Punjab United three-nil, Harding with two and Chambers with the other, whilst just outside Southend Great Wakering Rovers were losing ten-nil against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Glebe defeated a young Ramsgate side by four goals to one, whilst Harlow Town defeated East Thurrock Utd by two goals to one.

Harrow Borough hosted Hanwell Town and the Geordies liked the hospitality, winning five-one, whilst at the seaside Hastings Utd were defeated three-nil by Tottenham Hotspur U23.

Holyport hosted Marlow, and our visitors were just too strong at the end, holding out to win three-two with a Brown hat trick.

Lancing and Sutton Common Rovers scored a goal apiece at Culver Road, Tyrell Butler scoring for the visitors, Matt Daniel for the hosts.

Leatherhead hosted Raynes Park Vale, and the visitors left happiest, winning two-one, whilst Maldon and Tiptree defeated Athletic Newham four-one, with three goals from trialists and one from Scott Kemp.

Newhaven came back to snatch a late draw as they hosted Whitehawk, Chappell and an own goal giving the Hawks a two-one lead, but we did have an away win as Sheerwater hosted Chertsey Town, and the Curfews won three-one.

Southend Manor versus Witham Town ended goalless, whilst Stowmarket Town played Colchester Utd U23's, and the match finished five goals to two to the visitors.

Thatcham Town scored four without replay as they defeated Aldermaston, whilst Three Bridges got three- but still ended in defeat as Eastbourne Utd managed four.

Tooting & Mitcham Utd hosted Balham, and a seven goal thriller saw the visitors come out on top, four-three, whilst David Knight scored for Grays Athletic at Ware, but the hosts came back to win two-one.

Westfield and Moneyfields scored two goals each, and we also had a draw at Whitstable Town, as their match with Margate ended goalless.

Uxbridge travelled to Windsor, and won by four goals to one, whilst Worthing went one better, scoring five as they hosted Welling United. Meekums, Gwengwe, an own goal, Pearce and a Trialist hit the National League side hard.
