Everybody needs good neighbours...

Casuals and Rocks get help maintaining their greenery

Everybody needs good neighbours, as the song goes- and Corinthian-Casuals and East Thurrock United today had reason to thank theirs, as they came along to help with pitch maintenance- and brought their own equipment.

In Casuals case that equipment was three large red fire engines with hose attachments, whilst for the Rocks it was a rather smaller tractor, but as they always say, it isn't size that's important, it's how you use it. At King George's Field the equipment was deployed by a collection of burly London fire-folk who ensured that the pitch was given a good soaking, whilst at Rookery Hill the neighbour in shining armour- or on a shiny green tractor- was local farmer (and Rocks fan) Dave Keeling, who spent most of the day ensuring that the pitch would play very well, if only we were allowed to play on it.

Many of our clubs are relying on help from their friends and their winder communities at the moment, and we'd like to add our thanks. It's times like this that good neighbours become good friends.
