A Barking duo

By Ian Townsend

Palmer and Ashman to remain at Mayesbrook Park

Barking spent much of June wearing out the Isthmian laptop by announcing signing after signing, and just when our poor machine thought it was getting a rest, up pop two more. The latest duo to return to Mayesbrook Park are Giovanni Palmer and Johnny Ashman.

Palmer made ten appearances last season, after joining the club from Romford. He scored three goals for Boro last season in fifteen appearances, making his last appearance in defeat against Heybridge Swifts in early November. We believe he is nominally a forward, but last season he wore shirt numbers three, seven, eight, two, five, ten and eleven, so al we can tell you for certain is that he isn't a goalkeeper!

Ashman was the Blues Mr Reliable last season, making forty appearances and scoring eight goals. Generally a winger, before his time with the Blues he played for Cheshunt, Witham Town and Clapton, and scored ten goals for Town in 2018-19 before heading west to Mayesbrook Park.
