A Hawks signing update

Since we last reported on the goings-on at Whitehawk they've announced a new signing- and a collection of returning players. Here's the who's-who.

Since our Whitehawk transfer feature last week the club have announced a number of returning players, and added a new signing.

The new signing heads across from Lewes, as experienced defender Frankie Chappell takes his place in the Hawks backline. Frankie made his name with Folkestone Invicta, indeed he was there for a decade, and joined Lewes in 2017, taking up the armband and leading them to promotion at his first attempt- a season during which he made forty appearances and weighed in with five goals. It was no coincidence that the Rooks had the best defence in the South Division during that campaign. He made forty nine appearances during 2018-19, and another thirty seven in the truncated campaign last year.

The returning players are striker Connor Tighe, midfielder Luke Emberson, keeper James Broadbent, midfielder David Martin- who is also taking on a coaching role, defender Stacey Freeman, defender Marvin Hamilton and midfielder Ahmed Abdullah. They join the already announced Henry Muggeridge, Harry Shooman and Adam El-Abd.
