Another signing for Gate

Oaks winger the latest recruit at Hartsdown Park

Margate have announced the signing of former Sevenoaks Town wideman James Bessey-Saldanha- one of the many trialists the Blues have fielded in recent behind-closed-doors friendly matches.

James made the number seven shirt his own for Sevenoaks last season, scoring two goals and assisting in quite a few more in his eight matches before the season crashed to an early close. Prior to playing for Oaks he turned out for Bearsted in the SCEFL, scoring an incredible twenty one goals during the interrupted 2019-20 season.

Manager Jay Saunders told the club website:

"He’s played in every one of our run-outs in recent weeks and his potential and ability is something I’m really excited by and think supporters will be too.

James is a quick, tricky player who will cause opposition problems and I think our fans will really take to him at Hartsdown Park.”
