Edwards Elucidates!

By Ian Townsend

Cheshunt boss Craig Edwards speaks about his plans for the new season- and the mid/pre- season period.

Cheshunt manager Craig Edwards has been speaking to Henri Jackson about his plans as we head in the direction of the new season.

"We've retained all of the players who we wanted to keep," he explained. "I'm optimistic of having a good season, and would expect to finish in a high position and be a good side. I'm very, very confident that we'll be one of the top sides.

Worthing, Horsham, Carshalton Athletic and Hornchurch will be our rivals. Cray would also have been one of them, but with them losing their management team we'll have to wait and see. It's going to be a tough, competitive league."

Asked about his plans, he outlined how the next few months should look for those in Amber.

"We're going to train once a week through April and until the middle of May, and we'll get a few games in because the boys want to play football. We've just had a game against Basildon and it was great to be back. We'll then have a break from the middle of May and come back towards the end of June and kick in with proper pre-season."

There will be a pre-season match with Billericay Town, date to be confirmed.
