Goalscoring legend Portway joins Motormen

By Pitch Hero

LAST season's FA Cup heroes Redbridge have appointed Del Robinson and Steve Portway as joint managers for the 2012-13 Ryman North campaign.

Robinson is a full-time coach at West Ham United and Portway was a prolific goalscorer for many non-league clubs, most notably Gravesend & Northfleet. He lost the sight of one eye while playing for Gloucester City, an accident which may have cost him a move to a Football League club, but continued to hit the net regularly.

He finished his playing career with Essex Olympian League club Harold Wood Athletic, whom he managed last season. He is pictured in action for them above (left), courtesy of TGS Photo
