Good golly, it's Ollie!

Bury Town add a midfielder

Bury Town yesterday announced their first new signing of the summer, as midfielder Ollie Snaith moves over from St Ives Town.

Ollie might be familiar to Isthmian League supporters, as he played briefly for Needham Market in our Premier Division during 2016-17, and has also played for Cambridge City in the past (although they weren't with us at the time). A regular in the St Ives first team in the Southern Premier Central Division since joining at Christmas 2017- no, he wasn't gift wrapped- he made seventy nine appearances for the club during the last three seasons, if our research is correct.

He started his footballing life at Newmarket Town.

Manager Ben Chenery, speaking to the club website, stated:

“I am delighted to have secured the services of Ollie. He will bring energy and goals and complement our existing midfield. I am sure he will be another fans favourite and I can't wait to start working with him.”

Town have also confirmed that Ram Meadow will be a much brighter place for the forthcoming season, as the installation of new floodlights has been completed. These are more than twice as powerful as the old ones, so you might need to wear your sunglasses!
