Defender Tomas remains at Dereham

Dereham Town have announced that centre back Tomas Snapkauskas has signed on for another year, with an option for a further season after that also agreed.

Tomas played professionally for a number of years in his native Lithuania before heading to Norfolk, apparently also playing for the national side at Under 21 level. He made his Magpies debut in the two-two draw with Grays Athletic back in October, and went on to make another twenty one appearances and make the number five shirt his own.

First team boss Adam Gusterson, speaking to the club website, was delighted to secure Tomas on a long-term basis.

"We are delighted Tomas has committed his future to us. He has a great attitude, together with all the attributes needed to be a quality centre half in our league.

He put in a number of impressive performances after breaking into the team last season and his contract is reward for the form shown. The experience he gained in his first taste of English football last season will stand him in good stead going in to this, as he is fully aware of what the non league English game is all about"
