Millers and Tags in promotion showdown

Aveley have opened up a five point lead at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian North Division, and the Millers will want to stretch that to eight as they entertain Hashtag United at Parkside tonight.

With only four matches remaining the title increasingly looks as if it is Aveley's to lose, but losing isn't something they've done very often this season, and they are currently on a run of eighteen matches unbeaten- a run which started with victory over AFC Sudbury on December 11th and features fourteen victories, the latest of which came against Witham Town last Saturday.

The visiting Tags have fallen six points behind fifth place Grays Athletic, and with only four matches left you'd have to think that they'll need to take something from this match if they are to claw their way back into the top five by the end of the campaign. Whatever happens, however, they have had a fine debut season at Step Four, and were seven games unbeaten until losing- rather ironically at Parkside- last weekend, against Aveley's tenants, Grays Athletic.

The match kicks off at 7.45 PM.
