Moatsiders host 'Jolly Jingle Jamboree' tomorrow

By Ian Townsend

Get to Merstham early tomorrow for a free children's party- then stay late for more entertainment after the match

Merstham will be welcoming Brightlingsea Regent to the Whisky Bible Stadium tomorrow, but those of you with youngsters should get there early, for the start of the club's Jolly Jingle Jamboree!

From 12 noon there is a free children's Christmas party, which the players will also be attending- probably because they are addicted to strawberry jelly, just like the rest of us. There will be activities, music and sweets for all (well, for all children, the rest of us will have to do without because we're watching our figures).

Later, at the match, there will be a big prize raffle, with lots of prizes, and win, lose or draw- although obviously it will be more cheerful after a win- there will be a disco from 8PM.

Whilst we're here, we might as well preview the football! The Moatsiders start the day in fifteenth, but have gone five league matches without a victory so will be rather keen to start another run of victories; whilst Regent, who are second bottom but who had taken four points from six before Worthing came to call last weekend, will be hoping to spoil the party. Not the children's party, mind you, that would be cruel.

Regent won the first match between the two this season, right back in August, and the Moatsiders haven't beaten these opponents in their last three attempts.
