Regent waste no time finding a new manager

Clacton boss Austin takes the hot seat

Less than twenty four hours after announcing the departure of manager Kem Izzet, Brightlingsea Regent have confirmed his replacement in the shape of Clacton manager Tom Austin. The new man will be accompanied by his number two, former Regent head coach Ryan Salter.

They leave FC Clacton in tenth place in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier Division.

Chairman Terry Doherty explained:

"I am very excited by the appointment of Tom Austin and club legend Ryan Salter."

We have been tracking their progress at FC Clacton for some time now and we have been impressed by what they have achieved. Although the lads are stepping up two levels I am sure they will get to grips with it quite quickly.

Salts knows the Regent inside out and Tom is a very driven and ambitious young manager who in some ways reminds me of our most successful manager James Webster.

I know from talking to both the lads they are relishing the opportunity to manage the team and ingratiate themselves into the Regent family."
