Scholars bring in Towners forward...

...and announce that nine of last years squad- so far- are staying at the Pakex

Potters Bar Town had a busy evening as they announced the signing of Enfield Town forward Ken Charles and the retention of nine of last seasons squad.

The nine staying on are:

R’avan Constable
James Budden
Andy Lomas
Will Wambeek
Keiron Cathline
Jack Humphreys
Thomas Gogo
George Quarrington- Carter
Nana Kyei

Charles, who is still a teenager, had a fine season for the Towners, scoring thirteen goals and assisting many more. He made thirty eight appearances, and his tally of goals included one against his new side on August Bank Holiday Monday- a match which ended as a two-two draw.

Prior to his time with the Towners, the player was a professional with Colchester United, playing for the Under 23 squad. He previously played for Erith Town and for the Under 18 squad at Maidstone United.

Scholars boss Lee O’Leary, speaking to the club website, explained:

“It has taken some time, but the wait has been very much worth it. Ken is someone I’ve been impressed by every time I’ve seen him; he gets bums off seats...I’m sure he will become a Bar Army favourite very quickly. His goals per minutes ratio at such a young age is impressive. I’m delighted with this acquisition. Welcome to the club Ken!”
