Two for Regent

Brightlingsea arrivals for a striker and a winger

Brightlingsea Regent yesterday announced the arrivals of winger Kane Gilbert and striker Khris Oti.

Kane comes over from Canvey Island, where he made thirty eight appearances last season, scoring eight times and setting up many more. He moved to the Gulls from Halstead Town just before the end of 2018, playing twenty times during that first half season without finding the net, so obviously worked on his shooting last summer! At fifteen he had a trial with Barcelona, after his mum sent the Catalan giants a video of him playing for the Cambridge United youth team and they invited him over.

Khris moves up from Coggeshall Town, although he only played one match for the Seed growers last season, appearing in a Velocity Trophy defeat against Bury Town. He spent the vast majority of the campaign playing for Coggeshall United, scoring prolifically, and previously played for Brackley Town, sadly missing out on their Wembley FA Trophy win due to injury. He started his career at Colchester United.
