Worrall stays on at Hastings

Season three in prospect for Ryan

Hastings United have announced that midfielder Ryan Worrall has signed on for another season at Pilot Field.

Worrall was a big success during his debut season at the club in 2019-20, making thirty appearances and scoring two goals. He returned to Sussex, where he had previously played for Whitehawk and Eastbourne Borough in National League South, and for Horsham in the Isthmian League, after a period in New Zealand with Tasman United.

He also spent some time on loan at Tonbridge Angels whilst a Borough player.

Last season, wearing the number three shirt, he played every match before the campaign came to yet another unfortunate end. He scored two goals, the winner at Sevenoaks Town and the opener against Ashford Town in an FA Trophy victory.

Speaking to the club website, manager Chris Agutter explained:

“Ry, alongside Kenny (Pogue) was our player of the year last season. We challenged him in the summer to become our midfield leader, our midfield metronome, which he did more and more. Ry is key to this teams continued success so to tie him down for the upcoming season is fantastic news.”
