Footballing fans, David James and covid jabs!

By Ian Townsend

Just some of the things on offer at Whitehawk's community day, this Saturday

Whitehawk are hosting a special Community Day tomorrow, at which you can see Whitehawk fans take on Guernsey fans, whilst raising money for the British Heart Foundation and the Whitehawk Foodbank. Ross Standen and Stuart Tuck will also pull on their boots.

Also on offer will be the chance to watch a first team training session, and to do some yoga and have your face painted, listen to live music and browse the stands and stalls.

And there's more!

Former England keeper David James will be on hand, and he'd like you to bring along your old boots for charity, as they'll be recycled by being donated to someone less fortunate- so get them out of the bottom of your wardrobe and bring them along. You can learn more about that initiative here.

And there's still more! Local residents who haven't yet had their first covid vaccination can come along and have it- and there might be the chance that those awaiting their second jab can get that, too- read more here.

And there's, well. more! Curly from Soccer AM will be along to film for YouTube channel, Location Football. And- yes, we haven't finished yet- if you can't get there you can still watch, online- here.

What, you want more? Well the whole day is 'pay what you want!'
