Friendlies wanted for new manager

By David Watters

Herne Bay are looking to line up key pre-season friendly opponents from Ryman North for their incoming manager.

With the successor to Sam Denly expected to be appointed within weeks after this Friday's deadline for potential candidates to apply passes, the Ryman South club's officials are hoping to host friendlies at Winch's Field on Saturday 29 July and Saturday 5 August.

The 2017-18 Ryman League season kicks off on Saturday 12 August and Herne Bay director Ron Boddy is hoping the early appeal to fill the vital dates will give their new management team a head start in the run-up to the upcoming campaign.

Herne Bay director Ron Boddy said: "The deadline to consider candidates closes on Friday and lining up the games as soon as possible is a priority. If any club fancies a day at the seaside for their players at the end of July and or the weekend before the season starts we'd love to hear from them."
