Former Chatham Town midfielder Jacob Gilbert moves in at Bay

Herne Bay have announced the signing of midfielder Jacob Gilbert, who spent part of last season at Chatham Town.

He managed only five appearances for the Chats, after signing in September.

Jacob was with Hythe Town during the 21-22 campaign, making forty one appearances, weighing in with four goals. The Cannons weren't his first South East club, as he also spent time with Haywards Heath Town during the 2020-21 campaign, playing four times on loan from Maidstone United, where he played for the Under 19's and the first team.

He has also spent time with Corinthian, and with Canterbury City.
