Guernsey see the start to their season pushed back

As you might have noticed- the club released a statement, here- our friends in Guernsey are still having difficulties, through no fault of their own, being able to complete their fixtures.

Our Chairman, Nick Robinson, explained the situation to our clubs in his August newsletter thus:

'Guernsey are having difficulties competing in the League because of the way in which the States of Guernsey are protecting the Island against Covid-19. Currently no one can go in unless he or she has been double vaccinated and even then, they have to pay £25 for a self-test kit. The same applies to the residents of the Island coming over the mainland and then going back.

This obviously creates difficulties, and we hope that we have
found a satisfactory way forward to deal with this in as much that we have agreed to postpone their September fixtures and manage those postponements to rearrange them during the season.'

The club, in their statement, 'hope that this will allow for time for States of Guernsey restrictions to ease sufficiently enough to enable us to welcome teams to Guernsey.

We thank the league for their flexibility and understanding and our fans for their patience. We can’t wait to welcome teams and supporters back to Footes Lane.'
