Brad Wellmen and Sammy Knott confirmed as the permanent one-two at Canvey. Read- and watch- more here.

Canvey Island last night confirmed that their caretaker duo of Brad Wellmen and Sammy Knott have been named permanent Manager and Assistant Manager. The duo have been carrying out the top roles since the departure of Mark Bentley for Southend United last month, and have a perfect record, with three matches, three wins, fourteen goals scored and only one conceded- it couldn't really have gone better for them, could it?

Chairman John Batch told the club website:

"Brad and Sammy have done brilliantly since taking over, with three excellent performances and results under their guidance.

I've spoken with several members of the squad who have made it clear to me that they feel that the current setup will give us the best chance of having a successful season.

We as a board have therefore decided to recognise this by officially promoting Brad and Sammy to provide clarity and stability, allowing everyone to focus on our goal of achieving promotion."
