Haigh stars for the Sparks

Former Chelsea and Aldershot man Joe Haigh signs on at South Park Reigate

South Park Reigate gave a debut to new arrival Joe Haigh in their topsy-turvy five-four defeat against Westfield on Saturday, the midfielder impressing with a goal and his overall performance, which earned him the man of the match award.

Joe came through the ranks at Chelsea, where he played youth football until his departure from Stamford Bridge in the summer. He moved on to play a big part in the Under 18, Under 21 and Under 23 sides, and also spent some time on loan at Derby County, where he played for the Rams Under 21 side.

He has also played for England at Under 15 and Under 16 level.

He joins the Sparks after departure from National League side Aldershot Town, and we suspect one of the reasons he was attracted to the Sparks was the chance to play alongside his brother, Marco.
