Hastings go top- whilst it’s seven for Bay- the only two top half teams to win!

By Ian Townsend

The Lilywhites and Three Bridges are our other three-pointers, whilst everyone else end level

Whitehawk hosted an in-form Hastings United, and thought they’d go in level at the break, only for Finn O’Mara to put the visitors ahead. The Hawks then went down to ten men, Javaun Splatt seeing red, and United coasted to the three points- a result which sees them hit the top of the table.

Corinthian hosted our leaders, Cray Valley PM, and the Millers were kept at bay for nearly an hour before Rory Hill gave them the lead- but that lead didn’t last, as five minutes later Louie Clarke levelled for the hosts. The visitors couldn’t get a winner, and dropped to second place.

Whitstable Town have been in fine form, climbing the table with win after win, and took an early lead in their derby match at Herne Bay, Kemo Darboe scoring his third in six matches. The hosts weren’t having that, however, and turned the game on its head in ten minutes just before the break. Aaron Millbank equalised on thirty five minutes, Keiron Campbell made it two four minutes later, Rory Smith made it three-one four minutes before half time, and a minute after that Bode Anidugbe made it four as the Oysterboys were shellshucked.

After the restart Bay continued to be merciless, and Laurence Harvey made it five-one, only for Harry Goodger to get the seventh goal of the match just after the hour, making it five-two. That goal must have enraged the hosts, as they went on to get another two, Bradley Schafer and Zak Ansah making it a rather impressive seven-two. Bay climb to fifth.

Burgess Hill Town hosted high-flying Haywards Heath Town in the Mid Sussex derby, and struck the first blow twelve minutes after the break, Lewis Finney opening the scoring- but seven minutes from time Tom Gilbert earned the visitors a point- which leaves them in fourth place.

Ramsgate offered free entry for their match against Hythe Town, and the two sides gave them great entertainment for their lack of money with four goals in the first half. Oliver Bate and Charlie Webster traded goals for both sides before Joshua Ajayi’s sixteenth of the season put the hosts ahead, but the Cannons equalised just before the break, Jordan Sarfo making it two-two. The next goal looked to be all-important, and it went to Ajayi for the Rams, twelve minutes from time- but Town weren’t done, and Riley Alford earned them a point with an equaliser with just six minutes to go.

Sittingbourne took the lead on twenty seven minutes at Faversham, Johan Caney Bryan’s eleventh of the season shocking the Town faithful. The Lilywhites were level soon afterwards through Bola Dawodu, and then completed the turnaround on the hour when Jono Richardson struck. Eddie Alsopp made sure of the points with the hosts third, from the spot, eleven minutes from time.

Sevenoaks Town and Three Bridges were each looking for three points after three games without a win. Bridges struck the first blow, Dan ‘Hitman’ Perry scoring after only four minutes, but it wasn’t long before Bobby Dunn had equalised for the hosts and then Louis Collins gave them the lead. Ten minutes before the break Perry made it two-two, and just after the hour Bridges were ahead once more, Curtis Gayler making it three-two. Gayler got his brace right at the end to make sure of victory.

VCD Athletic took the lead in their derby match against Phoenix Sports from the spot, Youssef Bamba moving into double figures for the season on seventeen minutes. Connor French equalised from the spot just after the hour mark, and that was that.

Lancing and Chichester City couldn’t manage a goal between them.
