Hastings Hasler

Sam heads to Pilot Field

Hastings United have announced the signing of former Folkestone Invicta midfielder Sam Hasler.

Sam ended last season with Cray Valley PM. He managed to score three goals in four matches in green, and it wasn't his first time in green, as away from Invicta he'd also had two loan spells with Ashford United- and prior to his time at the Buildkent Stadium he turned out for Maidstone United, Erith and Belvedere and Herne Bay.

During his time with Invicta he was named in the Isthmian team of the year in 2017-18. He made six appearances in stripes last season, scoring once, played twenty times in 2019-20, the same number the season before, and forty nine times in 2017-18- a season in which he found the net nine times as the club reached the Playoff Semi-Final.

United manager Chris Agutter told the club website:

“Has signing has been a long time coming for us. We have missed opportunities in the past to sign him but we were determined not to miss out on him again. Having kept 90% of the team together we know we are in a strong position and to improve on the group takes some doing, Has certainly does that. He has a cannon of a left foot, great passing range, goals and assists from midfield, there is so much to be excited about with him joining the club.”
