Hastings make history

Two attendance records broken on New Years Day

Hastings United's one-nil win over Lancing on New Years Day saw them go four points clear at the top of the Pitching In South East Division- but it also broke two records. Two thousand and seventeen watched the match, won by Jack Dixon's goal in the sixty ninth minute.

The club announced that it was their best Isthmian League crowd ever, beating the one thousand, eight hundred and thirty four that watched them against AFC Wimbledon in 2005. More than that, however, it's the best Pitching In Isthmian South East attendance since the Division began in 2018-19.

Furthermore, if we go back to the introduction of a 'South' Division in 2006, only Maidstone United in 2012-13 and Folkestone Invicta in 2009-10 managed to beat it.

Congrats to all at Continental Pilot Field on this achievement. Image: Scott White.
