Hawks and Green Lions to play a virtual 'Big Match'

By Ian Townsend

Clubs to meet online tomorrow to raise money for local charities

Whitehawk and Guernsey were so looking forward to their big match at the Enclosed Ground that they've decided to play it anyway, cocking a snook at coronavirus and the enforced end of the season. The match will be played virtually, of course- no social distancing rules will be contravened in the making of entertainment- and you can get involved on the Twitter Feed of both clubs.

There is a Just Giving Page- HERE- and the clubs are looking to raise funds for the following charities:

The Whitehawk Foodbank. This vital local resource was set up to provide individuals and families with the basics, and with many low income (and now no-income) families within the Whitehawk area struggling to keep going, providing the bare minimum during lockdown is proving to be very difficult.

The Guernsey Mind Charity. This charity has been working with Guernsey Football Club for a while, and right now their role is pivotal, as they reach out to help huge numbers of people on the island that are dealing with the pressures of lockdown and uncertainty.

Get involved by reading this article and by following the two clubs on social media.
