The Tags get back to winning ways- and damage their hosts title hopes

Chatham Town welcomed Hashtag United, the Chats hoping to narrow the six point gap between themselves and leaders Hornchurch. New signing Rowan Liburd, who made his debut from the bench on Saturday after signing from Sevenoaks Town, made his first start and scored his first Chats goal on twelve minutes, a fine header giving the hosts an early lead. The Tags were back in the match ten minutes before the break, an own goal drawing them level, and just before the hour the visitors went ahead, Pedro Carvalho shocking the home fans. Nine minutes from time the Tags finally put an end to their dreadful January, Luke May-Parrott making it three-one and silencing most of the two thousand and eighteen watching on- although a late red card for Nathan Smith slightly impaired their evening and gave the hosts hope, and Simon Cooper quickly pulled it back to three-two. The hope was short-lived, and they fall nine points behind Hornchurch in the battle for the title.
