Highlights: Enfield 0 Gorleston 3

By Ian Townsend

A sixth unbeaten match for the Greens, with three goals and three more points

Our Pitching In Isthmian North Sunday saw Enfield entertain Gorleston, although we don’t suspect that what followed was very entertaining for the Enfield faithful.

Gorleston arrived at the R&D Advisors Stadium with a five match unbeaten run under their belts, and they made it six with comparative ease. Adam Tann opened the scoring after just nine minutes, heading home a corner from Jacek Zielonka, and Zielonka scored the second just after the hour, keeping his cool from the spot. Three minutes from time Alby Matthews saw the Greens move to within ten points of the top five. The E’s have taken only four points from their last ten matches, losing eight of them.

Writing on social media, Enfield boss Alex Salmon expressed his views on the match:

‘I apologise to all associated with Enfield FC, we were so poor on the day. As for Gorleston,
sometimes you have to credit a job well done. Good side. Have to give credit to whoever scored the first goal and both centre backs. Brilliant.’
