Highlights: Maldon & Tiptree 1 Heybridge Swifts 3

A derby win for Swifts

Heybridge Swifts travelled up the hill to take on local rivals Maldon & Tiptree, and the journey back down the hill would have been made even easier after their side came from behind to take all three points. It was good news for the Jammers when George Smith scored his fourteenth of the season, this was with just three minutes on the clock, but that turned out to be the high point for the home side and their fans. On nineteen minutes Danny Nesbitt levelled for Swifts, and the sides then cancelled each other out until nineteen minutes from time, Sam Park putting the visitors ahead for the first time. The hosts did all they could to draw level, but right at the end substitute Lewis Watson made quite sure of three points, adding a late goal and ensuring that local bragging rights were swathed in black and white- revenge for the Jammers win at Scraley Road last Boxing Day.

That’s three consecutive wins from the Tags.
