Hill bring in Heath's Cooper

Burgess Hill sign long-serving defender from their local rivals

Burgess Hill Town have announced the capture of Haywards Heath Town defender Nathan Cooper.

Cooper will be a big loss to Heath, as he has been an enormous part of their success over the last few years, winning promotions and cups and helping the club to the South East Playoffs during 2018-19. We can't quite work out how many appearances he made during that period, but it's well over two hundred- and he was rather prolific at the other end too, at least for a centre back!

He made thirty five appearances last season, scoring four times- including two appearances against his new club, a five-one league win in August and a two-nil Velocity Trophy defeat the following month.

Nathan came through the youth side at nearby Step Five club Hassocks, and also turned out for the Hillians many moons ago.
