Hillians hit their target

Burgess Hill crowdfunding an enormous success

Just over a fortnight ago you may recall an article announcing the start of a crowdfunding attempt by Burgess Hill Town, who were attempting to raise ten thousand pounds to replace the floodlights at their Leylands Park home. Well here we are seventeen days later, and because of their efforts the ground is no longer called Leylands Park but is instead now named the More Than Tyres Stadium, and visitors for an evening match when the new season kicks off will be bathed in a warm glow- and not only because they feel good due to their generosity!

The club yesterday announced that they had reached their ten thousand pounds goal, but would still be grateful for more and have many other projects that would benefit from additional funding. They explained:

'A massive thank you to everyone who donated to our #LightUpLeylands campaign. You have absolutely smashed our target with days to go! We are still accepting your donations; which will go towards further improvements around the ground.'

The crowdfunding page remains active, and the club are also still offering some fabulous rewards, such as the chance to buy a match-worn shirt from last season or to receive a sports massage- and the secret of eternal youth- from their very own talisman, Pat Harding. So you can head here and help.
