Hornets new stadium- work begins

By Ian Townsend

Horsham should soon have a new home

It seems that all we’ve done over the past few weeks is write about ground issues, but here’s a positive story- after ten years without one, Horsham FC have begun work on building their new stadium at Hop Oast, on the outskirts of the town.

Currently sharing with Lancing FC at the Sussex County FA’s Culver Road, the Hornets will be desperate to get back to a stadium in the town, sparing their supporters a regularly torturous trip down the A24. Chief Executive Officer John Lines has confirmed that the new stadium site has now been cleared, a pond extension has been dug, ballstop netting installed at the nearby driving range, and- once the local authority approve the work done so far- car park construction and pitch levelling will begin.

For more detail please head to the club website, HERE, but we’re delighted that the Hornet’s return home is another step closer.
