Hot-shot told to keep breaking records!

Hendon chairman Simon Lawrence is urging striker Leon Smith to keep scoring goals and breaking records at the Ryman Premier club.

Smith, pictured, became the first Greens player in 89 years to score in eight consecutive games on Monday night when he found the net in a 3-1 home win over Barking for Gary McCann's side in the London Senior Cup.

Smith's 79th minute strike equalled the all-time club record set by Oscar Reinke way back in 1925 and followed the forward becoming only the fourth player in the club's history to have scored in seven straight games the previous weekend.

On Saturday, the 29-year-old has the chance to set a new all-time record for scoring in consecutive games if he can find the net at Dorchester in the FA Cup's Third Qualifying Round.

Backing the former Wingate & Finchley star to do it, his delighted chairman tweeted: "Congrats to @lstardom85 on scoring tonight and in each of @HendonFC's last 8 games equalling a club record. Keep it going!"
