Ilford enjoy their night off

By Peter Butcher

BOTTOM club Ilford were without a Ryman North game tonight (Tuesday) but still had a good day as the two teams a point ahead of them were both beaten at home.

Lee Hales scored twice for the second successive game to give Chatham a 2-0 half-time lead at Ware. Jack Jeffery completed a 3-0 victory in added time and to make Ware’s night even worse they had Tony Martin sent off.

Redbridge went down 1-0 to Waltham Forest, their 10th defeat in 11 home games. Dmitri Larin’s eighth-minute header provided the only goal amid a host of missed chances at both ends.
