Introducing the Velocity Trophy

By Ian Townsend

Isthmian League welcomes Velocity Sports Limited as new sponsors of the League Cup- and as official 3G pitch partner

The Board of the Isthmian League are delighted to announce that, for this season and next, the Isthmian League Cup will be sponsored by Velocity Sports Limited and will be known as the Velocity Trophy. Velocity Sports Limited will also become our official 3G pitch partner.

League Chairman Nick Robinson stated, “We are delighted to be working with Velocity. As our clubs and supporters might be aware, they provide F.I.F.A approved 3G surfaces to sports clubs around the country. Examples of their work which you may be familiar with include the pitches found at Carshalton Athletic, Aveley FC, AFC Sudbury, and the Sussex County FA headquarters at Lancing- which will be hosting Horsham FC this season.

We look forward to strengthening our working relationship over this season and next.”

Joe Boniface, Sales Director of Velocity Sports Limited, added:

“We’re delighted to be associated with a great competition and offer our continued support to non-league football. We are fortunate to have provided 3G stadia and training facilities for a number of clubs already in the Isthmian League and we look forward to extending that collaboration over the next two years.

Velocity strongly believe that educating our clients at feasibility stage is key to managing expectations and realising long term value. To that end we’d be only too happy to support clubs with future plans for a 3G pitch or equally, assist clubs with existing 3G surfaces who require maintenance, renovation or replacement advice.“

The draw for the First Round of the Velocity Trophy was announced earlier this week, and matches will be played before the end of September.

For advice on the design, construction, renovation or maintenance of any 3G surface, please contact Velocity Sports Limited on 01256 862624 or via sales@velocity-sports.co.uk.
