Invicta go to Wrexham in the Trophy...

By Ian Townsend

...whilst Cheshunt are off to St Albans

Our two remaining FA Trophy winners from Saturday have landed very tough but eye-catching draws in the Fourth Round of the competition, as Invicta head to Wales to face the latest side to be given a "moneybags" label by the media, whilst Cheshunt have a far shorter distance to go as they take a trip to St Albans City.

Invicta, who have defeated Hendon, Faversham Town, Hartley Wintney and Uxbridge to reach this stage, will face a Wrexham side who are fifth in the National League, and who walloped Gloucester City five-nil on Saturday. the club are owned by Hollywood A-listers Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who agreed a two million pound investment when the bought the club from its Supporters Trust earlier this year.

Invicta boss Neil Cugley commented:

“Obviously we would have liked a home draw, especially one like this, but this is about the best draw we could have got away from home. It will be incredible for the players and they deserve deserve the chance to play on that stage, at a ground fit for the Football League. Hopefully they and our fans will enjoy it but we aren’t just going to make up numbers, we’ve had some great runs in the cups this season and we want that to continue.”

The Ambers, who defeated Bishop's Stortford on Saturday and have also knocked out Chelmsford City, Berkhamstead and Corinthian-Casuals, make a much shorter journey to face less high-profile opposition, but that might suit Craig Edwards men, particularly given they have already defeated a National League South side on the road.

Ties will take place on Saturday 15th January. Games will go straight to penalties if scores are level after 90 minutes.

Winning clubs will pick up £5,250, whilst those who are unsuccessful will get £1,500.
