Irish defender Barry McGann is set to make his Soham Town Rangers debut against Harrow Borough on Tuesday night.

The 31-year-old centre-half signed for Rangers last month and is ready to start against the Premier Division club in the second round tie after his international clearance finally came through.

McGann, who previously played for League of Ireland outfit Mervue United, makes his debut at the back with Luke Little still ruled out following a recent hernia operation.

The Cambridge News is reporting that manager Steve Fallon could also be in the market for a goalkeeper after losing the services of Dan Bircham and Leigh Follen to injury.

Bircham is expected to be out for the season with damaged knee ligaments while Follen fractured his shoulder in Saturday’s 2-0 league reverse at Thurrock.

Fallon told www.cambridge-news.co.uk: "We’ve got the reserve team goalkeeper [Simon Allen] who stepped up to help them and there’s the youth team keeper [Callum McDermott], but we’ll have another look at it nearer the time.”
