Italian gets green light for debut

Italian midfielder Lorenzo Dolcetti could make his debut in the Ryman League's top flight on Saturday for Bognor Regis Town after his international clearance came through.

A central midfielder, the 20-year-old spent last season making 27 appearances in Italy’s Serie D for ASD Oltrepoveghera.

Dolcetti, from Cesena in Italy, recently moved to Sussex to study at Chichester University and has been training with Jamie Howell's first team squad for several weeks while waiting for his clearance to come through.

In a statement on Friday confirming the Italian could be make his Rocks debut on Saturday when Howell's fourth-placed side host AFC Sudbury at Nyewood Lane, club officials invited fans to watch footage of their new signing in action that they've posted on the club's official website.

A spokesman said: "The club are delighted to have registered midfielder Lorenzo Dolcetti after having received confirmation of his international clearance earlier today. We very much welcome him to the club and supporters can view him on the following clip."
