Ites get back to winning ways in style

By Ian Townsend

Sheppey United headed to Havant to take on Horndean- and after falling behind hit back with five!

Horndean took their latest home match on the road last night, moving it to Havant and Waterlooville to avoid postponement. The Deans, who hit four goals on Tuesday night in a draw, were in good form with only one defeat from six, whilst visitors Sheppey United were hit for four by relegation-fighting Beckenham Town on Tuesday and were looking to quickly bounce back.
As it turned out, bouncing back was exactly what the Ites did.

The Deans took the lead after just seven minutes, Zack Willett scoring his twenty fifth goal of the season- but that turned out to be the highlight for the home fans. Just before the half hour Danny Leonard levelled for the Ites, and it turned out to be the start of an inspired ten minutes, as Daniel Bradshaw quickly added a second and on thirty eight minutes it was three, Connor Wilkins giving the visitors the chance to relax a little.

Within a minute of the second half commencing the Ites had added a fourth, James Taylor a friend to the visiting faithful, and although Ethan Robb then reduced the arrears from almost the half way line the last word went to United, Jacob Lambert making it five-two five minutes from time.

The Ites are eighth, six places and nine points ahead of their hosts.
