It's Fixture Release Day

By Ian Townsend

Come back at four and we'll have all the news you need. But here are a few dates for you...

Every year, within a fortnight of the old season ending, the questions begin. Well, we say questions, but actually, it's always the same question.

"When are the fixtures released?"

Well, today is that day. At 4PM we'll have the August fixtures, the fixtures from the Festive Season and Bank Holidays, and other highlights- and at the same time your clubs will be getting the entire set of fixtures for the season. Soon, we'll have populated our website calendar with every league match from now until April.

As you know, the season starts on August 13th. We can confirm that we've another full programme spread out over Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week, too, and- of course- another on August Bank Holiday Monday, 29th.

Christmas will see a full programme on Boxing Day, and another on Monday 2nd January, to give you the opportunity to enjoy the New Year. Monday 2nd is a Bank Holiday.

Easter Monday is April 10th, and will also have a full programme of fixtures, and the last day of the regular season will be Saturday April 22nd.

By the way, we're often asked why the fixtures take so long to be released. For those of you who aren't aware, the FA appoint a single company to compile all of the fixtures from the Premier League down to our level. They are released in order, and as you may have noticed, every level above us has released their fixtures already. The Trident Leagues- ourselves and our sister Pitching In Leagues for North and South- will all be releasing today or tomorrow.

Remember, some of our clubs will kick off in the FA Cup a week before the League season starts, so competitive football is just around the corner.

Right, we'll be back at four with more!
