Former Merstham man joins his former boss at Kingstonian

Kingstonian yesterday announced that they had snapped up former Merstham centre back Jake Hutchings.

Jake was an important part of the Merstham side, under K's boss Hayden Bird, that reached the Premier Division Playoff Final in 2018-19. He made twenty two appearances, including in that final and in the Semi-Final victory at Carshalton Athletic, before leaving the club- but unlike most of his team mates he didn't head to the K's with his manager, instead joining another former manager, Glen Driver, at National League South side Braintree Town. After Driver left the Iron Jake ended up as caretaker manager for a while, before leaving the club in December due to family commitments.

Writing on Twitter, Jake said:

'Pleased to be joining a club with great ambition and no doubt heading in the right direction! Can’t wait to get going when it all starts back up again!'

He has previously played for Torquay United, Weymouth, Enfield Town, Frome Town and Grays Athletic.
