Late goal sends Wealdstone out

By Peter Butcher

DESPITE twice taking the lead through Peter Dean, Wealdstone went down 3-2 in their FA Trophy replay at Corby tonight, the winning goal coming in the second minute of added time.

Dean gave Stones, semi-finalists last season, a ninth-minute lead which they held until the stroke of half-time, when Sam Ives levelled it.

Another goal from Dean restored Wealdstone's advantage in the 68th minute but Carl Piergianni made it 2-2 in the 82nd minute and Josh Moreman grabbed the late decider which, in truth, Corby deserved, having had the upper hand for much of the night.
