Midfielder Byron Lawrence heads to Ipswich Wanderers

Ipswich Wanderers have announced the loan signing of midfielder Byron Lawrence from Pitching In Southern Premier side Needham Market.

Byron was an Ipswich Town youth, graduating to the first team squad before moving to Colchester United, where he also spent time in the first team squad but mainly played Under 21 football.

A spell at Bishop's Stortford- then at Step Two- followed, before he signed for Leiston, playing for Wanderers boss Glenn Driver. He had three spells at Leiston in total, punctuated by short spells at Billericay Town and Dulwich Hamlet. He spent some time at Braintree Town, and signed for the Marketmen in the summer of 2020.

November 2021 saw him suffered a dreadful injury, a great deal of surgery, and there was concern that he may never return to the game, but he has been playing again for a short while and this move will help him to continue his return to full fitness.
