Sammy Moore departs Potters Bar Town

Shock news from the Lantern Stadium this morning, as Potters Bar Town have confirmed the departure of manager Sammy Moore.

A club statement, released recently, reads as follows:

'The Club can confirm that Manager Sammy Moore has left Potters Bar Town.

Darren Beale has also left the Club alongside Sammy.

We remain ambitious and intend to push for three points in an important clash at the top of the table against Carshalton Athletic this weekend.

Our targets and ambitions remain exactly the same.

Lee Protheroe has been placed in interim charge, stepping up from his role as a coach.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Sammy and wish him the best of luck in the future.'

Moore joined the club at the end of January, and took them from nineteenth place up to thirteenth- a full seventeen points above the drop zone, as opposed to one when he took over. He leaves with them a point clear of Hornchurch at the top.
