Loyal veteran mourned by all

Grays Athletic FC are mourning the loss of one of the Ryman Premier club's most loyal supporters.

The Blues sent their condolences to the family of Rodney Nash on Friday after the 83-year-old lost his courageous battle against a long term illness.

Known to all as 'Bryan', saddened officials said the whole club was mourning the loss of the supporter who they described as a 'true Blue'.

In a statement on their website the club said: "With his wife Audrey, he was a 'true blue', attending all home games and travelling to many away matches to support the Athletic throughout the good times and staying loyal in the not too good ones too.

"Bryan was one of life's true gentlemen, a kind, soft spoken gentle man, always willing to give advice to all who sought it of him. Our thoughts are with Audrey at this sad time. We offer our sincere condolences to her and the family."
